Cumbre Hall of Famer, Rohani Ready for SFA
Cumbre hall of famer Samim “the bullet” Rohani is in charge of a dark horse Prospect FC from Adelaide. Rohani (23) was a key figure with Cambio Cumbre from mid 2013 to late 2016, dazzling his opponents with his dribbling and lighting speed. After winning a third consecutive Series Futsal Australia title with Cambio Cumbre, Rohani has taken on a new challenge as the player-coach of Prospect FC, the current champions of South Australia.
“I have been utilizing the knowledge and experience I got while playing for Cambio Cumbre… and promoting futsal in Adelaide”
Rohani has been coaching futsal juniors with Adelaide fusion and Football Federation South Australia (FFSA) at the Southern Futsal Academy, and is currently the manager of a 20 teams juniors competition.
After winning multiple South Australian titles, golden boots, and representing Galaxy Futsal Club (QLD), Rohani was offer the position of player/coach at one of South Australia’s up and coming Futsal Clubs, Prospect FC.
“I was approached… to manage and coach Prospect and make them one of the most successful clubs in Australia….. Prospect now leads the South Australian Futsal League and are on their way to winning their first title.”
Prospect FC have been tipped as a dark horse with several players with F-League and Series Futsal experience. Rohani managed to lure Soloman Islands captain Elliot Ragomo and will look to be a key player for the Adelaide side.
Rohani was one of Cumbre’s first players in 2013, a squad that dominated West Australian futsal for over 3 years.
“My best memory with Cumbre was winning our first ever Series Futsal Australia title, however the third title in front of a home crowd was sweet as well.”
Cambio Cumbre and Prospect could meet in the knockout stages if both clubs progress from their groups. Cambio Cumbre wishes Samim all the best as he leads his side to SFA glory.
