3 important points for our mens sides in the Draft and SFL over the weekend against Fremantle with a good display of Futsal.
The draft side faced a strong Fremantle. The team was comfortable on the ball and strong in defence. The boys played with intensity and aggressiveness which has been the focus of coach Omar in the last few weeks. A well deserved 2-0 to give a massive boost of confidence to our young side ahead of some of the challenges ahead.
Our SFL side were focus from the start showing as well as the draft intensity which was difficult for Fremantle to handle. Head coach Wazeem Omar has been focusing on playing at a high level of intensity which is starting to pay off. The boys were aggressive and organised in defence. In attack, the movement and passing speed were good to create some good scoring opportunities.
Young star Bakr Zeyad opened the score after a great long throw by international GK Rain Blauberg. The second goal came after a series of passes finished by veteran Nestor Fonseca to make it to 39 goals this season. 2 more goals one by Chandra Nagendran and Bakr Zeyad again saw la Cumbre to seal 3 important points against a confident Fremantle who came from a series of good results including a victory over Stirling Braza.
Next week la Cumbre are set to face Perth AFC at round 24 on Saturday 7pm
